Your game's logo is its identity, the first thing people see that they associate with your game. Tips:

• Describe exactly what you want. Design is expensive because you throw away 90% of your ideas, so if you can absorb some of that process you make it easier on them, and cheaper for yourself. Never assume they know what you mean unless you explicitly say so.
  
• Be sure to indicate the logo needs an alpha channel for blending, if you want to lay it on top of a 3D background.
  
• If your logo has a light color and is being drawn on a light background, be sure to indicate you need a dark drop shadow underneath the text to add contrast.
