Jumping on boxes - up velocity stops

I just bought the Indie and Standard edition, so I am fairly new to the engine. This might not be a bug, but I am reporting it anyway, in case it is.

(Right now, I'm only playing around with the editor with Lua)

 

When I use the "FPSPlayer" prefab on the player model to move around, and "hugging a box" (looking at it and press W) and jump, even if the box is at knee height, the up velocity suddenly stops on top of the box, as if he has glue on his feet.

What I expected was that he would continue to move upwards and fall down on the box.

As it is now, it feels really choppy and not fluent at all.

 

May it have something to do with the "if you walk towards a very short box, you will automatically be 'teleported' up on the box" functionality? Like, you jump up on the box, but when there are, lets say, 20 centimeter left between his feet and the height of the box, it thinks it is a small box, so he just get teleported up and the "jumping" variable is set to "false"?
