  1. GUI system in Leadwerks 5 is working nicely with direct-on-window rendering (no Vulkan code).

  2. I've got a drop-down box that really drops down (beyond the bounds of the parent window). This is several years in planning.

      The same code can execute in-game and render on another thread in Vulkan, or can be used to render a GUI to a texture and display it in the 3D world. So yeah, I know it looks simple, but there's a lot in there.

      This will be used for drop-down menus and I want to create a pop-up preview in the assets browser that shows a large view and information about any file you hover over.

    Hey there I was wondering what gpu's will leadwerks 5 support and will it support the Oclus quest and XR API's as well as support non coders and have visual scripting? An last will it have a plugin for exporting models from blender 2.8 or higher?

      If you just export an FBX it should work.

  5. Is anyone else experience slow downloads from here lately?  Namely the beta's and benchmarks. I get up to 4mb/sec through Steam and other sites but here it barely reaches 100kb/sec.

      Josh

      Requires Vulkan 1.1, so pretty much everything from the last four years or so. I am not supporting mobile VR yet, but may very well in the future. The initial product will be a programming SDK and in the future a visual editor will be added with support for our flowgraph system. I have no plans for a visual scripting system but the editor will have an extensions system and someone might add this feature. You don't need a plugin for Blender support because you can just use glTF and it works very reliably.

  9. Anyone know when leadwerks 5 might come out and if it is going to be paid once as well 

  10. is there going to be any XR support for leadwerks 5 for VR? or no and would it be possible if the Leadwerks team would allow or support https://improbable.io/  so if people want to make online mmos or something they can use it in out of the box?

      I'm sure they have a C++ SDK, so it's already compatible. What headset are you asking about, Hololens? I have had some requests for supporting that, so it may happen.

      I have no idea. Either way, I think porting Leadwerks 5 to Mac will be much easier than 4 would have been, and 3 was. There is no reliance on OpenGL, x86, or Blitz anymore.

      It will work but not being able to play Portal 2 on an iMac is a major buzzkill. Those two things went together so well.

      My old iMac was the best user experience I ever had. It's miles ahead of the laptops. So many little cool things it did. Don't know if I really want a 27" iPhone.

      Most of your Steam games no longer work in Catalina.

      What made Mac good was when it got more compatible with Windows. This will be very bad. I was going to buy an iMac but not now!

      MoltenVK allows Vulkan to run on Apple devices.

      The problem is that the new computers will be much slower than the old computers. The Mac will just be 15" iPhone.

  22. Is there a reason why Joint kinematics don't move if mass >= 15. 

    I think the old function PhysicsSetPosition() could move much more.

  23. The C++ Math::Cos function seems to be broken for me? If I put in any number from 0-360, times pi divided by 180, it always comes out with something above 0.99. Wot?

      The function accepts degrees. Is there an angle you are inputting that is not producing the expected result?
