  1. User images and attachments are offloaded onto Amazon AWS now.  Our own server only needs a very manageable 2.5 GB backup now.

  2. Moving all forum uploads over to Amazon S3 (behind the scenes).  I can get gigs and gigs of storage for pennies and our site backups will be a lot smaller.

      YES!!! I have been using S3 and Ec2 for eyars very successfully, you will be very happy you have made this decision. And the power of Ec2 for VR applications is mind-bending. Total Brain-Grenade.

  4. Looks like I will probably be giving a short talk at Kiev Polytechnic Institute on October 24.

  7. Leadwerks 4 and 5 are now compiling side-by-side with the same source code.

  9. Successfully built Leadwerks 5 as a 64-bit executable, with C++11 shared pointers and unicode support!

      I'm going to focus back on Leadwerks 4 development.  My goal is to get 4.5 and 5 beta out before Christmas.  And we're going to have a new game tournament soon.

      Together with the top secret project that will give me plenty to do for the rest of the year.

      I had this made some time ago after I suggested the idea about the new logo but thought it wasn't a good idea, here it is anyway: a subtle iteration of the current logo, turning the font to a more rectangular shape. Simple change, significant enough, less work to do!

  14. Leadwerks 5 beta will be 64-bit only.

  15. Leadwerks 5 beta will feature shared pointers, unicode strings, and API changes.  Initially there will be no Lua support or new editor.

  16. First build of Leadwerks version 500 has been successfully compiled and linked!

  17. C++ has changed so much. The code almost looks like BASIC now, but with more power.

  18. Some small syntax changes in Leadwerks 5.  Very exciting!: Leadwerks 5 example

  20. Setting up 2Checkout so we can accept credit cards for the new product.

  21. IPB 4.2 upgrade failed and I had to roll back the server to our last 24 hours backup.  Will try again during the week.

  22. Hmmmm, GSC Game World is reunited and they are located right here in Kiev.  I don't know where their office is but I probably walk by it all the time.

      Is it the same crew that worked on stalker though? I follower their updates of Cossacks 3 (remake of one of my favorite games), but no news of a Stalker reboot.

  23. Still working on hours and hours of switching over to shared pointers for Leadwerks 5.  It definitely will make games much easier to code in Leadwerks 5!

  24. I contacted the computer science department at one of the local universities.  I can easily hire a whole team of interns here to help me.
