Great, I started to notice it

      noticeably slowed down when doing

      radius edits.

The heightmap format is different and there was an error that caused too much vegetation to be updated when you edit the height.

      //heightmap format is different

      sounds not good :(

So apply this to indie programming; don't try to cram every feature in to your game, just aim for something you can achieve and you'll be happy. I'm mostly a happy person because my expectations are so low that I am never disappointed =).

is there going to be a 2.4 demo version? I really want to try out the new features, thinkin about buying a license but I am unsure so far.

    1. Rick

      Rick

So $250 for LE which does amazing things, and $350 for baked GI. Something just doesn't add up there to me. I guess I was expecting like $100 for the first month.

I don't make any money off sales of pureLIGHT. The community requested support for this tool, and they knew at the time what the price for the Torque and Unity versions was.

    3. Rick

      Rick

I honestly wonder how many sales pureLIGHT has made currently from LE users even at the discounted price. I'm guessing very little. If he charaged $50 my guess is most everyone here would have purchased it by now.

  11. The new feature works on ATI cards. Actually, there's two new features.

      Canardian

Of course everything works on nVidia cards.

    2. Josh

      Josh

If it works on ATI cards, it works on NVidia cards, unless it is a color cubemap without mipmaps.

  18. test update

  19. I think OnLive should charge a flat $50/mo. fee and pay developers according to % time customers spend playing their game.

    1. Rick

      Rick

I agree, but can imagine that not being a great pricing model for companies. I mean most people probably don't play much of a single player game on average, so they would make less.

    2. Pancakes

      Pancakes

$50 a month is a bit high and Rick is right single player games would make much less on average even if everyone played a great single player game 3x that would be 40hrs per person, but one MP game could last hundreds of hours per person even if it was much less popular game

  20. Was playing Dirt 2 and UT3 on my netbook. The lag is better than a multiplayer game, so not bad. They aren't allowing wifi connections yet, and there is no Crysis. If they allow wifi I might get some games.

    1. Pancakes

      Pancakes

so in other words we can get top of the line performance on any online device now? that is cool. I have no need to ever upgrade again if that's the case. My next PC will cost no more than $400 max

    2. Josh

      Josh

Well, there's not many games to choose from, and no wifi, so I will wait.

  21. Installing OnLive right now...Crysis on my netbook?

    1. Rick

      Rick

I don't see Crysis on their list ofgames.

    2. Rick

      Rick

I didn't realize we had to pay for the games plus the subscription. Lame.
