  2. I have an idea for a directional light shadow method that replaces cascaded shadow maps and allows sun shadows in the distance with no range limit.

  3. I'm quite happy with progress. There are no serious issues standing between is and having our PBR lighting working with Vulkan. Shadows will be the next challenge, but I think they will not be too hard. I am taking the day off and started reading a new book, Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" on which the film "Apocalypse Now" is loosely based (in a different setting).

  5. Visual studio 2019 rocks. Unbelievably fast; I got a significant (consistently between 12 and 16) FPS boost in one of my game engine projects simply by recompiling! I guess new C++ optimizations in the compiler really lived up to the hype. Has anyone else found this to be the case?

    Hope to see Turbo using it. ( I'm glad to see it's using Vulkan. :) )

      I have a question, that means I can use VS2019 to compile VS2017 cpp game ? Do I need to adjust any configuration for doing this ? :)

  7. I'm near to 3000 hours too. Even if I didn't finish a project, Leadwerks became a great sandbox experience to try every possible simulation. 

    Still missing an integrated road tracer to the 4.6 version, like there was one in the past right ? Is it that hard to integrate this back ?

  10. Thanks to Leadwerks, I can make many games for my family members, especially my father. Game development with Leadwerks is now the most exciting thing in my life

      Yes, and I think all of joined Discord member are the one who truly care about Leadwerks's fate, ;)

      The forum is still so effective. and discord is good for sharing forum content, a quick way. discord is better than forum chat feature too

  16. Is there any simple explaination why using C++ to make game in Leadwerks can help performance better than lua? (Explain like I am five) :D

  17. Josh... I need your new bones/skeleton/animation (for Turbo) as soon as posible, because my game's FPS drops like hell when I put this bunch of soldiers into my scene, I need 30+ characters in one scene (include enemies and allies) and LE4 can not handle that number of characters, so sad :(

      After removing all of character's finger bones, I have gained a big amount of FPS, there are 20 bones each character now (instead of 49). It is ok with 30 character in a small scene but in larger scene with more entities, 10 characters still even make FPS lower than 30.

      Here is my character and his bones, I know I can decrease the number of bones by simplize character's hands but I need them. I counted there are 49 bones for my soldier

  21. I’m starting to see Leadwerks haters on Facebook. This is a very good thing, it means you are challenging the status quo.

      some of my friends asked me why I did not use other modern engine like UE4, Unity, CryEngine, they told me that Leadwerks look bad, they hate Leadwerks. But NO, I told them that I love my choice and I love the way Leadwerks help me in game development. Keep up the good work!

  22. I just bought "Akeytsu Indie", after using the trial version for some time, i whas amazed of how easy and fast you can make 3D animations with it.
    It is now 40% off during steam summer sale. If you need a good animation software i recommend Akeytsu.
    Pay attention to what type of license you buy though;)
