  1. Stop writing blogs and upload us a demo.
  2. As we all know there is no normalmapping effect in shadows where only ambient light is used. It makes a interiour room looking very flat usually so I'm looking for a solution there. Best would be - with my minimal knowledge - to have some kind of point light without a falloff and shadowing where I can set to a low value to make the normalmaps appear. Some kind of Cube-Light. So my question: 1. Is it possible with .lua? 2. Can someone modify me a point light to get this effect?
  3. OMG the Dragon has no underwear!!
  4. none...maybe three if i have to choose.
  5. Okay I got the light .lua but still need the screen-space GI Shader.
  6. I'm looking back and forth for two things I once gathered here in the forums but they must be gone with the "large blackout". I had them on my HDD but seem to deleted them after switching drives or so. First was a very good GI-Shader which was around here including code and such. I even converted the famous Sponza Atrium to use it with. Does someone have this shader still and please can sent it to my mail or upload here again?? I have a screenshot on my facebook site: with it too. Second thing was a thread about extended directional light with large shadow maps for 4096 and even 8192px. I can't find it too and need it for movie rendering. Please the same here: I really need it. Maybe someone even can do it in a quick way with .lua or so. I hope you guys can help here.
  7. Thanks a lot! It looks very smooth and detailed here.
  8. People are not only doing games with Leadwerks. A good number of users also do architectural visualizations with it. This is what I also did in 2011 mostly at Pure3d Visualizations. Leadwerks supports me to present real-time experience to my clients with a stand-alone and let them play themselfs with models, placement and enhance decision-making processes with my help. I got a bit derailed by new solutions like Lumion3D which offers good movie-making but lack of other stuff game-engines support since 2006 and makes clients happy but not me who is used to performant brush based editing and vegetation plcement. it seems you can't have all you need in one great tool. One thing which is also difficult is to find proper 3d models if you need to finish a project quickly. There are a lot of sites around which let you buy high-quality 3d furniture models to do - lets call it the level design - within the project. But what I found out is that I wasn't able to find good low-poly furniture. If I want a bed or plant I only get a bed with 50.000 triangles. It's not that bad because you don't have to populate a vast space with furniture and its okay to push polycounts a bit higher in realtime arch-viz as in game-dev. But the lack of low-poly geometry with a proper material setup plus a nice normalmap can be time-consuming to do. So I got the idea to help myself and do a pack of specialized real-time furniture using famous designers as inspiration which can be used in a wide space of engines and even within the shiney new GPU renderer out there (like Octane) which also need optimized geometry and slick material setups to fit into vRam. Beside five different model formats I did 2048px textures and a focus on clear naming, good geometry and own Lightmap channels to bake a complete solution just on the fly. But I find it difficult in Leadwerks to offer game-ready material setups when it somes to glass and reflective surfaces. Should I just put placeholders on it and the let the end-user use his own code for cubemaps or translucent surfaces? What would be best setup to bring those models to Leadwerk users as well? I need you opinions as artists and maybe coders on how to do the most valuable setup. Get to my shop to see some finished models (not Leadwerks ready at the moment): http://shop.pure3d.de/14-real-time-furniture
  9. Sync Tool = Update.exe??? Or is there something new? It's updating all 890 files at the moment.

    Field Trip

lol thanks. Sorry that you have to dress down the models. ;-p I buy model collections for arch-viz renderings a lot. its very cost efficient. but like in game-dev i dont mix several manufacturer of those models. Having coherent models in style is very important forthe audience eye.
  11. I dont like the fact you can see the sales. It should be private...not well running there from point of sales. Don't know why.
  12. Nahh just go and buy my tree models and you will be fine with lots of good vegetation made for leadwerrks.

    Pathfinding

I can't assist on code but what I learned the last two years is that you can't do everything on your own. I used to try to do everything on my own too but at a certain point this is just unproductive. I COULD do high-poly trees for projects myself but its just more cost efficient if I buy a library and invest this free time in other things. Same with outsourcing to freelancers. Before you get mad with recast hire someone if you can afford him and invest this time other LE3 work. Imagine what you can do in 6 months if you outsource this problem.
  17. Yes, same here. Leadwerks Engine 3.0 - sounds like progress and envolvement.
  18. This is not 100% Roland. Google first displays the results which have the search keyword in the URL. Then it displays the meta description and keywords. Unity3d is an example for it. ITs not on top of the searches of game engine because the URL misses the word "engine" or "game". But it has it in meta description. This is a reason for using search engine friendly URLs and set up meta information properly without. I made very good experience on my websites with it but wont bust this thread with SEO stuff here.
  19. No matter what you chhose make sure you have a word in which most people are searching for. Like "game" or "engine". It makes sure you will be find by search engines. Or do some specific landing pages at least. If you have some kind of website analytics running you can also check for the keywords which make people find here or from which places in the web they coming from. If 90% came here with the search string "banana" it would be a good idea to name it "Leadwerks Banana Engine" or so.
  20. I think the term "engine" is not that bad. Especially its combinmed with "werk" associated with work. And that's doing. It's an engine that works. We have CryEngine UnrealEngine and lots of other engines. Its a modern and well known term for a game toolset with programmable extensions. Leadwerks3D sounds like a fork of Leadwerks. Like some kind of 3D modeling tool if I would get in touch with this engine the first time. Even if its Leadwerks3D you will have to explain that its a 3D engine on the webpage so you still have to use the term "engine". I would go with Leadwerks Engine 3.0 but shorten it up in most cases. Like LE.3, LE3D or LE.III. For different versions you could use "LE.3 ArchViz", "LE.3 Academic", "LE.3 Games" and whatever more...just without the word "edition" behind the purpose to shorten it up. All in all simplified but recognizeable. A little bit like id software did it with id-Tech4, id-Tech5 and so on.
  21. Sounds good Josh. I wonder how Cryengine is doing the scaling internally because it vegetation scaling works nice there. Will this limitation also mean we won't see scaleable objects in LE3?

  24. Why not asking the dexsoft or ateria guys if they like to sell on your asset store too? They offer animated characters. I uploaded my items and would like to do earn some bucks but it seems my models are blocked or invisible. What do you need/looking for? More small items? It takes time to upload them each one by one. I would be happy if you unlock my model packs in the shop even if the shop is still beta.
