  1. I had wiped out my Documents/Leadwerks to start with fresh projects I updated to 3.5 on Linux via Steam I decided to walk through all the new tutorial content. On this page: http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/editor-interface-r1 Loading up the new tutorials project, I received: Error: Failed to load map "/home/malachi/Documents/Leadwerks/Projects\Tutorials/Maps/start.map". Checking the directory, that file is in fact missing: -rwxrwxr-x 1 malachi malachi 68565 May 20 22:20 Scene Panel.map -rwxrwxr-x 1 malachi malachi 51003 May 20 22:20 Prefabs.map -rwxrwxr-x 1 malachi malachi 50526 May 20 22:20 Object Scripts.map -rwxrwxr-x 1 malachi malachi 56437 May 20 22:20 Lights.map -rwxrwxr-x 1 malachi malachi 51812 May 20 22:20 Editor Interface.map Leadwerks.log is 0 bytes, so nothing to attach I was able to move forward with the tutorial. Not sure what impact that error really has.
  2. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/constructive-solid-geometry-r2 During "Now activate the "Left - ZY" viewport. We are going to create a tube right above the box we just made." step I received: Error: Failed to load material "Materials/Developer/caulk.mat"
  3. Most of the popup dialogs allow stretching them to fit the content. The Model resize dialog does not. The content does not fit in the popup properly.
  4. When looking through the tutorial, you come across an image that you want a closer look at. You click it, expecting it to either navigate to the page or popup. Instead, it appears that a modal grey screen appeared over the page. What's happening is that the image is opening in the middle of the HTML page, not the middle of the browser window. So if you are on page 1 of 10, you have to scroll down 5 pages to see the image. Once you dismiss it, you then have to scroll back up 5 pages and find where you were reading. It would be ideal if it would open in the context of the current window dimensions rather than the generated html page dimensions.
  5. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/materials-r7 The shader is in the Model subdirectory, which is not automatically chosen. Maybe recommend "Model/diffuse+normal+alphamask.shader" or "<Project>/Shaders/Model/diffuse+normal+alphamask.shader" Later in the same page, it uses So that format is probably best.
  6. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/asset-browser-r5 The Models folder only contains Fan and Firepit, not Crates. The correct search term should probably be 'Fire'.
  7. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/asset-browser-r5 Removing the 'Test' and 'Test:Subtest' folder as directed makes it look like it accidentally deleted all your top level files. This is because it automatically unchecked 'Recursive' which had been checked by default.
  8. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/constructive-solid-geometry-r2 "Select one brush and then press the Carve toolbar button." "Create a new box brush and press the Hollow toolbar button in the main toolbar." Both are available in the menu, but not on the toolbar
  9. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/lights-r4 It then shows: Since the lights don't have any tooltips, being in a different order could be confusing. The bottom one looks like the Sun, so it isn't immediately obvious... Tooltips would be helpful.
  10. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/scene-panel-r3 When selected in the viewport, the Delete key does not work. When selected in the scene tree, the Delete key does not work. The Right-click menu from the scene tree has 'Delete' not 'Remove'. It does work. The Edit>Delete menu does work. The [x] toolbar button should also be mentioned, and does work.
  11. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/scene-panel-r3 The ctrl-key does not work to allow multi-selection. Just to confirm, I tried both ctrl keys, the alt key, the shift key and combinations of them.
  12. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/editor-interface-r1 It says: "We can also drag the dividers in between the viewports to adjust their size." The dividers are not selectible, clickable or draggable.
  13. On this tutorial: http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/editor-interface-r1 It says: "By clicking with the left mouse button in one the viewports, we make it the active viewport." It is not obvious when clicking in the different viewports which one is active. The Perspective view always appears to be active. There is no visual indication that anything happens. That only reason you can tell that it worked is because the brackets (][) work to change the grid size of the correct window.
  14. Right-click in the viewport, you see: "&Increase Grid Size" "&Decrease Grid Size" instead of the properly underscored mnemonic shortcuts
  15. Currently moved to Linux mint for a while. I've noticed that in the assets and project manager, the text is white and unreadable. This also happens with the file manager (When you go to load a new map or something), and the material editor. However, in the scene tab, the highlighter is called and you can see all the entities selected or not. Also not sure if this is Mint exclusive, but I can say it's apparent using Linux Mint 17.1.
  16. Hello! I recently bought leadwerks standard edition and I seem to have a problem. On arch Linux I can start editor just fine but as soon as I press the play button the game player hangs for a few seconds on a black play box and terminates without exception and without visual, I get no errors other than an unknown client disconnect error. Anyone got a solution? P.S It's not pure arch, I'm using Manjaro with AMD Catalyst drivers.
  17. This is going to be a thread where I list various bugs I find, since there are only a few Linux users. Bugs: - CollisionHull Generator, It crashes quite a bit. Sometimes It works, but if you change the settings and reapply, crashes everything. - Apply Texture? Texture Lock? Buttons for these were missed for the Linux release or something according to Josh. - Tool Tips for Sidebar buttons! They work on the top bar, but not on the side bar T-T - Sticky / Wonky control key usage. Something is not quite right, Half the time it doesn't register and instead of duplicating I just move the original.
  18. Hi All, some maps are linked to tutorials, but they won't open under Steam/Linux on my machine. Also the Button to "Forum" and the "Workshop" does nothing. Should this open a Browser? regards, Tommek
  19. Hey, I have a 5.5TB partition(raid: /dev/md124p1 5.5T 168G 5.3T 3% /home) which when I try to start leadwerks from it, be it the updater or the actual engine it spits out an error about unable to create file or directory. I worked around this by creating /opt/Leadwerks/{Engine,Projects} and bind mounting them there I expect them to be(~/Applications/Leadwerks and ~/Documents/Leadwerks) and that works just fine.
  20. Project Manager causes crash in Beta 3.x, 3.3 and 3.2 Leadwerks steam (indie) Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS x64 Clevo gaming laptop (Intel HD and AMD Radeon 8970M GPU) AMD Catalyst 14.9 driver installed Intel GPU drivers NOT installed Ubuntu converted to Kubuntu running Gnome (tried Unity display manager, same result) Leadwerks does run fine but I cannot create a new project Start Leadwerks via Steam build 428249 Go to File -> Project Manager New Project (project Type Lua) Enter Name MyTestGame Enter Author Rich Enter Copyright Rich Click OK Displays the following Projects MyGame MyTestGame Select MyTestGame Click OK Briefly shows game editor/IDE and closes Have deleted Leadwerks from the entire SteamApps/Steam Common Leadwerks folder and re-installed Same result Also have tried to use Project Manager to load the MyGame project, IDE just closes No feed back by crash in either case, but it DOES create the new project under projects, attempting to import the project results in the IDE crashing, also clicking Cancel causes it do crash as well Tried September archive release (3.2) same result. Deleted Leadwerks from SteamApps/Steam Common again and tried September release again If there are any logs I can send let me know, but I do accept that it may be that I an running a Ubuntu to Kubuntu convert, just looking for some pointers before I go an rebuild back to clean Ubuntu 14.04 cheers rich
  21. Hello, I really like the framework, but in the editor (on Linux) I have a couple of things which drives me crazy Delete key does not trigger delete... so no hot key SpinBox-es does not allow to use the mouse wheel, neither you can hold the up or down arrow, so I always have to write numbers if I want to change big in the amount. Of course I'm running on an unsupported Fedora, with XFCE so if someone could confirm that the situation is the same on the Ubunut, that would give a big help... (for these things I'm ready to reinstall my system ) Opinions ? Other things you realized ? Thanks a lot for this great framework ! (Just pulled some objects from blender, crazy how well this works...)
  22. I've added right button functionality to the rpg template I'm working on and found an error Key.MButton maps to the right mouse button, Key.RButton maps to the scroll wheel when clicked.
  23. I am trying to get Leadwerks to install correctly on Gentoo. I realize that only Ubuntu is supported, but that doesn't mean the program shouldn't run on another distribution. Whenever I try to run the LeadwerksUpdater, I get a blank GTK window for a split second before it dies with a segmentation fault. No additional dbug information is provided. Here's my "conversion" table marking packages in Ubuntu and their equivalent packages in Gentoo: libc6:i386 == sys-libs/lib-compat (1.4.2-r1) libgcc1:i386 == sys-devel/gcc (4.8.3) libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 == media-libs/mesa (10.2.2) libglib2.0-0:i386 == dev-libs/glib (2.40.0-r1) libopenal1:i386 == media-libs/openal (1.15.1-r2) libstdc++6:i386 == sys-libs/lib-compat (1.4.2-r1) libx11-6:i386 == x11-libs/libX11 (1.6.2) libxxf86vm1:i386 == x11-libs/libXxf86vm (1.1.3) gtk2-engines:i386 == x11-themes/gtk-engines (2.20.2-r1) gtk2-engines-murrine:i386 == x11-themes/gtk-engines-murrine (0.98.2-r1) unity-gtk2-module:i386 == *not installed* libdbusmenu-glib4:i386 == dev-libs/libdbusmenu (12.10.2) I have all of the necessary 32bit/64bit emulation libraries installed on my system. As far as I can tell, I am only missing one dependency. To that end, installing unity-base/unity-gtk-module requires the unity-gentoo overlay and all kinds of system-breaking ugliness just so I can install a terrible desktop environment on my system. If anyone knows how to get Leadwerks to run on Gentoo (or Arch or anything else that's not a fork of Ubuntu), I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance!
  24. Installed Leadwerks and upgraded to standard edition with C++ coding on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit. Started up fine before adding the standard addition DLC. Now I get the following (had to launch steam from terminal to see messages for Leadwerks startup): Game update: AppID 251810 "Leadwerks Game Engine", ProcID 30321, IP 0.0.0.0:0 Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "overlay-scrollbar" Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "unity-gtk-module" (steam:27673): LIBDBUSMENU-GLIB-WARNING **: Trying to remove a child that doesn't believe we're it's parent. 25. I've noticed during the testing, performance is really bad. Whether it's the AI testing level (3-10 FPS), 2 lights+floor+kicking around a box, or a particle emitter with high particle count, as soon as something starts happening it is visibly choppy. It is bogged down from 200 FPS to around 20 FPS with hardly anything going on, and I don't see why that could be, it's not like many unnecessary things are being rendered. (the moving platform level has more lights and moving shadows, unless that's different because the fixed movement path allows the shadows to be buffered) Now my computer is a bit outdated (i7 860 CPU, GTS 450 GPU, 8 GBs of RAM), but it doesn't seem like it should be having this much trouble just from lighting, especially when I can play other games on medium/high graphics with better performance. I'm not sure if this is a general issue, as I've only tried the Linux version, so it very well could be only an issue on that version of the software.
