  1. Hello again, hope you are all doing good. So, second post for tonight. I've chosen to install Ubuntu on my main computer as a dual boot as I need to use Linux for school and because I like Linux. I've chosen dual boot because I still want Windows to be running as my main OS for compatibility and ease of use. Today I've finally took the time to install the latest of ubuntu on my computer and I wanted to try Leadwerk on Linux as I was curious. I wanted to open a .werk project but met an error when trying to import it inside the project manager. The project was created on Windows and w
  2. I've got a bit of free time on my hands for a while. I plan to take up Leadwerks again and come up with a simple project to have fun with. I use VSCode at work and I don't have a Windows machine at the moment. Codeblocks is a bit dated now and I'm not sure if it has all the features to fit my workflow so I can't use it. It's a bit fiddly to build C++ apps on VSCode. There's a prescribed method of setting up your C++ project in the official hubs but I don't think those are necessary in my case, I just need a script that builds the project which I have below. By the way, VSCode w
  3. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/editor-interface-r1 It says you will see the welcome page initially, but you don't. It also says you can enable/disable it under Help:Welcome Page, but that option doesn't exist.
  4. Hi. Trying to use Leadwerks on Ubuntu 18.04 64bit with a Geforce GTX 750 Ti but when I try to open an existing project or start a new one, after clicking OK to load it, Leadwerks crashes. Nothing is written in the Leadwerks.log. I'm using the latest proprietary drivers and to use the old version is not an option in case that would be a solution. Could anyone help? I mean, it a fresh install of the OS and Leadwerks, so whatever the problem is, it must be solved on Leadwerks side. Thanks.
  5. Hi all, I have problem compile a blank Leadwerks C++ project on ubuntu 16.04(64Bit) with CodeBlocs(ver.16.01). Before i used CB on Ubuntu 15.10 without problems. Strange is that after fresh install on ubuntu 16.04 I have to install also all dependecy libraries manualy (libgl1-mesa-dev...etc) even it is installed from Steam. After installation of libraries that linker wanted i got: g++ -o ../../SpaceWars.debug ../../Source/App.o ../../Source/main.o /media/mbarhon/53229DC13D856ACD/mbarhon/Steam/steamapps/common/Leadwerks/Library/Linux/Debug/Leadwerks.a -ldl -lopenal -lGL -lGLU /me
  6. I'm currently testing Luawerks for Linux, and I've noticed that window:FlushMouse() and window:FlushKeys() seem to not be working with Linux. This is probably well known as I'm sure X11 is hell to work with. Any idea how to remedy this in the meantime? I tried to fix this with booleans and timers, but it just delays the action.
  7. Seems that scripts cannot be attached to objects, while using Linux Mint 18.2. In the following video an attempt to attach the Spectator.lua script to a camera results in failure. This was also applied to a CSG and the TriggerChangeMap.lua, ending with the same results. https://youtu.be/ucTMUP8cZSg Edit: This morning the Leadwerks contents were verified through Steam and everything checked out. Also, started a new Leadwerks configuration directory, and project, ending with the same results. Scripts are not attachable. @Josh
  8. Each time the Edit Color settings, under the "Appearance" tab, are altered, upon restart they are reset. The colours that are selected remain while in session, but once Leadwerks is closed and then restarted, the previous, default colours return. Clearly the values are not being saved. The methods that have been tried to work around the problem are: selecting colours using the colour wheel selector, altering the data numerically in the panel, and altering the data within the colour wheel selector. All have resulted in failure. Seems that I did not change the Min and Max
  9. This morning I tried to purchase an item via the workshop, which only brought the Steam client to the foreground and nothing else. Tried to accomplish this through the browser, which in the past worked, and produced the same results. The initial attempt, via the browser, brought me to the Steam login screen where I added the necessary amount, therefore ending in the Steam client having the money to make the purchase. Using Linux Mint 18.2 (Ubuntu 16.04.3) Is there a way we can circumvent the Leadwerks Workshop and deal with Steam directly to make purchases? Edit: Due t
  10. Last night there was another update and a new bug when compiling. /home/robb/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Leadwerks/Include/Classes/LinkedList.h|20|error: ‘weak_ptr’ does not name a type| /home/robb/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Leadwerks/Include/Classes/LinkedList.h|39|error: ‘shared_ptr’ does not name a type| /home/robb/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Leadwerks/Include/Classes/AnimationManager.h|36|error: ‘nullptr’ was not declared in this scope| ||=== Build failed: 3 error(s), 13 warning(s) (0 minute(s), 0 second(s)) ===|
  11. Since the last update, Codeblocks seems to be getting some new errors now, and it is unclear, if even possible by the user, how to correct them. Also, after the last update to the 4.4 branch, the libcurl4-openssl-dev package was required. ||=== Build: Debug in OpenWorld (compiler: GNU GCC Compiler) ===| /home/robb/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Leadwerks/Library/Linux/Debug/Leadwerks.a(Client.o)||In function `Leadwerks::Client::CountServers(std::string const&, int, std::string const&)':| /home/josh/Leadwerks/Engine/Source/Classes/Client.cpp|64|undefined reference to `curl
  12. My problem is the following: I bought Leadwerks some weeks ago, and now I want to use it. As it requires OpenGL4, I believed that it would run on the latest version of RadeonSI supporting OpenGL 4.1, but when I try to launch the application, A window pops up saying that it "Failed to initialize Graphics" and that I should update my graphics driver. This is a thing that I do not want, as AMD Crimson edition is ****. When i launch the application with steam opened via terminal, it says that it is running in "experimental openGL 3 fallback". Im sure that the driver suports openGL 4.1
  13. On http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials/_/models-and-animation-r8 This part is very non-intuitive. It didn't show the entire model at first, and didn't auto-play. There are no buttons with Play icons or tooltips. Randomly pressing the two buttons to the left of the slider, I managed to get it to 'start' - but all it was doing was flashing different body parts on the screen really quick. It didn't appear that anything moved, just flashed.
  14. Created a script this morning to load a cylinder with an attached script, however the material does not seem to load for the cylinder, or a cone, shaped CSG. Spheres and boxes load without issue. Not really sure why the materials are not loading, but I am hoping someone could clear this up. function Script:Use(entity) local bottle = Model:Cylinder() local material = Material:Load("Materials/Developer/bluegrid.mat") bottle:SetMaterial(material) bottle:SetScale(0.15,0.65,0.15) bottle:SetPosition(-4.4,1.6,1.9) local shape = Shape:Cylinder() bottle:SetShape(shape) bottle:S
  15. Hi, Game Launcher window when started is maximised and goes off screen. There is no way to adjust the size of the window, and buttons at the bottom are almost off the screen. This not really looking good and will put off users from using it. I'm using KDE (which is available in Ubuntu if somebody wants to be picky about supported distro) IMO trying going to full screen is pointless especially if launcher have such a basic design. Attached screen is not cut off, this is how it looks with hidden task bar, whole desktop area and to already answer potential question. I had to hi
  16. Hi, The font of the script editor is using a non-monospaced font which makes it difficult to write code. I cannot find an option anywhere to change the font, nor can I find a folder anywhere (e.g. in ~/.config) that contains configuration options. Can someone explain how to change the font? Thanks
  17. Today I was looking around the Steam store and noticed that Leadwerks Game Engine is not listed as supporting GNU/Linux (SteamOS) anymore. Is this true, or an error on their part? If so, what is not making this wonderful game engine not support for this platform?
  18. In the Scene panel, I am unable to select multiple items with the CTL or SHIFT keys. CTL + A does work, but I cannot modify the selection afterwards.
  19. I am using the latest beta build, but this issue occurs on the stable release as well. I am completely unable to drag and drop assets of any kind into my projects. This is only a minor issue, as I can still open the folders and/or use the "Import" option to successfully bring in assets. It is only a convenience issue and thus not a high priority if it's something more than an easily-resolved bug. While I'm here, I am also unable to delete assets from anywhere but the scene explorer. I have to right click and choose "Delete." I am no longer able to simple press my "Delete" key, nor is there
  20. Hello, Today I bought Leadwerks on steam because I thought it was worth it because of the huge winter sales But when I launch it and create a workspace the following error comes up : Failed to initialize graphics. Please ensure your graphics hardware is compatible and install new graphics drivers. And I found this old post who had the same problem which did not reassure me in the slightest because I haven't had a new computer in 6 years and my parents won't even let me buy my own if I saved up for it. I also did sudo lshw -C video And got the following result : *-di
  21. I cannot find a way to 'autoscroll' the debug window text. It would be nice if it was possible to set it to 'autoscroll on ouput', so that you can easily see the latest messages that get's printed out. (Running on ubuntu, guessing it's the same on windows, but I have not tested on windows because I do not have that). It's not easy to debug when you debug 'blind' and then have to scroll down and read the output afterwards. Makes it very tricky. Also - the output window on the main editor screen - would be nice if that one also could show the same text as what the output\debug window i
  22. When I start Leadwerks from the Steam window Leadwerks freezes the whole desktop. If I start Leadwerks directly from the desktop it works. I am running Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS.
  23. Hello. When I started creating anything on Linux I discovered that bug. When you run a game window appears, sounds are playing but screen isn't updating (when I walked I heard it saw the window but nothing happened). I used sample projects, and my own.
  24. I'm running LE on Ubuntu with AMD driver. Now, I have 2 issues, a minor and a major one. Firstly, VSync does not seems to work (yes, I've set Context:Sync(true)). Secondly, when I start LE after rebooting, it's quite fast. I get around 90 fps with water included on simple maps. Quite satisfactory. However, after a LE restart or two (or after a longer session without a restart), I get around 35 fps even when there are no objects in the map. The only solution is to reboot a computer. Any ideas? Thanx! EDIT This happens when I plug in external monitor to my laptop regardless wheth
