I've reviewed all of the posts in the original thread and created a poll based on everyone's suggestions. Please vote for your 3 most important requested features and improvements.

Thank you.

Edit: I found the vote results interesting and in large part as expected. Most people seem to be interested in being able to do more with their scenes, including outdoor maps.

Thanks. I'd really love a large turnout as well, whether you've used the engine for years and come across some challenges or you've just switched from another engine and are missing some features you've used before, or even brand new users whose projects would be helped by the above.

Is this a thing? Like, did Josh say he would consider this?

No. This started simply from my curiosity about two things:

1. What does the community want to see in Leadwerks? Does it match what I want?

2. Does Josh want from Leadwerks what the community wants? Will we see any of the most desired features this year or early next?

The problem with this is that it has 24 votes and most other things like this don't get more than 50 some votes. It would seem the majority of the people who own LE don't interact with much on the forums so the sample size we always get from forums is so small. I wish more people would interact but for some reason they don't.

For intergration I would love to see some work done for Daz, as their character models, props, scenes are well done and they have gaming licences available for using Daz Content.

I think the (indie) gaming license for their models costs $500, and then you also need to pay for the models. Also, keep in mind that their character models are fairly high poly (30K is a minimum, i think).

I've noticed the same thing. There are FAR more Leadwerks users than the forum activity indicates. But they're still using the software, and the SciFi Model Pack sold extremely well.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.

I find it hard to understand how you can buy he software and then not use the forum on a regualar basis.

This kind of poll is good fun and Josh may pick up some ideas but I hope he mainly continues with his existing plans. AND I am pretty sure he will.

amd quad core 4 ghz / geforce 660 ti 2gb / win 10

Blender,gimp,silo2,ac3d,,audacity,Hexagon / using c++

I guess some people buy the software and then either don't find it easy to use, or that they can't get it to do what they want. Then they move onto something else.

I know I have a couple of modelling programes that may never be used again :)

I think that some of these features/improvements should be standard, not voted for. Things like speed optimization, vegetation painting, water, bug fixing, editor improvements are beneficial/needed for everyone (or at least, the majority tongue.png ).

The other features/improvements are also needed or very helpfull, but maybe Josh can concentrate on the standard ones, and a couple of the others, and let a third party work on others, or maybe another kickstarter?

Anyways, it's just a suggestion. wink.png

Woah. I've never even heard of Daz before but those are nice models. Thank you for that link!

So you can see why I would also like it if Leadwerks is able to use/intergrate Daz genesis (1 and 2) characters natively or in a separate model/render path as the Daz genesis bases are powerful and well made.

Daz Indie Dev licenses are $500, but the quality and quantity make it worth it.

also

When Networking is done,

I would like it, so that when we publish a game (not workshop publish) that it can have a simple level editor that only uses in-game assets/entitites, ... etc to increase that game's community as well as the leadwerks community.

Yeah. I think the need for programming puts some people off.

I see that fixing existing bugs is well supported. For me getting bug fix updates more often for standalone would have been worth voting for.
