Compiling C++ on Linux

Recommended Posts

Leadwerks Game Engine Standard Edition works out-of-the-box on Ubuntu 16.04.

Compiling C++ programs with the professional edition requires the following libs be installed:

sudo apt-get install libglu1-mesa-dev
sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev
sudo apt-get install libxft-dev

That's it!

This failed with the error:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcurl.so.4: version `CURL_OPENSSL_3' not found (required by ...)

sudo apt install libcurl3

must also be installed.

For Ubuntu 18.04 (After installing the app with Steam):

sudo apt-get install libglu1-mesa-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libxft-dev
libopenal-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libxft-dev libxrender-dev
libcurl4-openssl-dev libtolua++5.1-dev

Then as explained here, You need to add -no-pie to the linker flags like so:
