I purchased ultra engine license called Prffesional Eddition, and although it is stated that this is a perpetual license and royal free, the recent changes in rebrading surfaced that it is not actually true. I am not able to use the product anymore without online verification. So my correctly installed version, that includes one time online validation of my license, have been disabled and I cannot use them anymore without installing new client, that asks for a different authentication details. Please please fix this. For the perpetual license, there should be a version of the software that I can download from my account and be already valid and licensed version to be used me on offline servers. Please don't change the user license details for the purchased product. Where are all the details of the ultra engine ? Also, please disable all metric exports from the installed version by default. Allow tracking as an opt in, rather than default tracking. If online validation and tracking is required for the usage of this application and the company holds the rights to remotly disable licenses by reasons like rebranding, please update such details in the license text. Josh Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I think what happened is you tried to sign in to the client app, and since the forum now uses the email address instead of the username, it was considered an invalid login and it signed your computer out. I really need clarification on what type of license it is sold with the purchase of the perpetual model aka "Ultra Engine Professional Edition". From your response, am I right to conclude that the application requires to work only online, even if the product license was previously validated? Can you share, where such agreement details are present. As expected, I am interested in what it was written about the product, at the time of purchase, and I do not expect that the terms and conditions to change for that version. To clarify your response: - I did try running the Ultra Engine app (shortcut from desktop), and that program presents the message "Please use the client application to log into your Ultra Engine account to ensure your license is active" - When I entered the credentials used in the past ( yes , username and password and not email) it shows an error as they are not the correct credentials. This makes my installation absolute, hence what I actually purchased and installed, was not the perpetual license. I believe this is breaking what is written in the "END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT". There are no points mentioning that I do not own the product and that I need to work only online. The first entry in EULA: Quote "This SOFTWARE PRODUCT is for personal use only and may be used by the Licensee, on one or more computers. Its component parts may not be separated for use by more than one person. SOFTWARE PRODUCT may be accessed through a network only after obtaining a site license. All components accompanying the software are copyrighted by ULTRA SOFTWARE and may not be taken apart, modified, used or published with other software or means except with the SOFTWARE PRODUCT software and may not be distributed or copied in any manner." I did nothing different from my first installation, but now, I cannot use this product. I am kindly asking for a clear answer why the product purchased in January ( no more than 3 Months ago ) is now, remotely disabled. I've checked my account and under my purchases I am no longer allowed to download my software because you are forcing everyone to log in on steam to get it. "This is a scam software, the license agreements are violated without effort and all users can lose their access with no consequences" I am glad to see that now you force everyone to lose their IP by forcing them to be under Steam terms and conditions, which by the way are under Anti-competitive violations. To summarise the steps that were done in this thread: - I asked why my program is disabled remotely and is should stop tracking my usage, when I purchased the full license with no royalties or other obligations. - I added that this program should work offline and I should not lose my rights, when you decide to change the name of the company. - I asked for a refund. Response was: - I did a mistake by using the "old"/correct authentication details - No refund - And with the latest changes > I can not have my program anymore if I deleted it. I need now to accept other scammy agreements to get my owned goods. Conclusion as a buyer: - total loss of money and goods. aka scam Amazing how aggressive you are in proving my point that this is not worth the effort, and users should expect even more losses for their mistake of supporting this project.
