Hello,

I can assign one material to my model, but is it possible to assign different materials/textures to different sub-models/limbs?

Example: I've one texture for the clothes and one texture for the Skin.

Thanks in advance,

you do this in your modeling application... just use multiple textures for your model instead of one... then use a material file for each texture used after its been converted to GMF

so for your example: you must have a material file for the clothes texture and a material file for the skin texture... but these surfaces must already have been assigned these textures from the modeling application...

Thanks, that's what I've expected, but how to assign these multiple material files to one mesh? I've only one field to enter the material-file inside of the editor.

what editor? The LE2 Editor? It is not a modeling application... its a scene editor... what are you using to create the model? 3dsmax, blender? post your model and textures...

EDIT-- Are you referring to the lua Properties dialog? and the material property?

I'm not a modeller, sorry - more a programmer. A fried is doing the modelling stuff with 3DS Max.

He send me a model in GMF-Format with different MAT-Files. I created the Default lua-Code to get the properties-diaog to get the properties inside of the LE2-Editor (lilke material, physics, ...). Here I can choose one material-file, but I've 4 .mat-Files from him

I checked the .sbx-File and it Looks like it is only possible to indicate one of These material-files but not all 4.

Sorry my misinterpreted description.

ok... does the model actually have more than one material assigned to it? you can open it up inside the ModelViewer and see if there are multiple surfaces with different materials...

As for assigning different materials you can just write the lua code that would set the materials for a specific surface... but without seeing the model and textures, we would just be guessing... also keep in mind that if you change the material texture for one model it will change for all of the models...
