Since tech demo public release some effects were added such as:

- fire muzzle effects, particles for shots

- particles for explosions

- blood particles on hits and gibbing

- blood decals on units when they getting damage and on the floor, when they gibbed

- few gibs beside a head, with a physics

Beginning of demo level can be seen here. Want to release the demo in few weeks.

Released 8 patches with a lot of fixes since a demo launch:

Biggest features added in those patches:

- Tutorial level - to teach a basic mechanics one by one

- Quake 1 Music support and Music by @Eric Matyas (www.soundimage.org) with an attribution in Credits menu

  • Which music to play can be chose via Sound settings

- Improved AI

  • Bots can now destroy obstacles and chase Marines now more efficiently.
  • Also they come to fighting allies if can't see targets by themselves (on Hard difficulty)

- Stun mechanic - can caused by bump damage

  • Push enemies into obstacles to do bump damage
  • 1 bump damage to stun dogs, 2 to stun human
  • Stunned units can't do anything in their next turn, except for Marines who can use Will Points to gain Action Points

Keep improving visuals by syncing damage with animations and projectiles and fixing stuff.

  • Fixed PowerUp like Quad being vulnerable and it's outline which was rotating twice faster
  • Added auto save at new player turn
  • Fixed bot navigation when one of target can't be reached
  • Fixed potential Line of Sight for ramp tiles
  • Precache now cones (like shotgun one) to avoid micro-stutter on first use
  • Survey dialog on game exit - so maybe this time someone will fill it :D

    Now demo is decent enough bug wise:

  • Finally fixed rendering bug after many loads fixed (engine was not releasing some entities properly)
  • Save system was rework for bug fix and old save will not work in new build
  • Added auto save per turn and for starting new level
  • Marines can pick in action mode

Trailer of latest demo build:

Last 4 patch notes beside bug fixing:

  • Optimized fog of war updates
  • Now hearing radius for AI twice lower if there is an obstacle between it and target
  • Added foot step sounds for Marines, Grunts and Enforcers (using Mission Pack sounds)
  • Now enemies will stay after shooting if have no melee attack
  • Added 3rd range weapon slot
  • Added hot key for Use Item action
  • Added dark backgrounds for demo level and removed "sun" light
  • Made some enemies spawn only on hard or/and normal difficulty
  • Now unawared enemies will reset their points to 0 after their turn - it will make attacking new enemies easier

Released 21th patch for demo:

  • Fixed explosion ammo texture
  • Fixed perception status icons
  • Added option "Texture Filtering: Nearest" - it gives pixelated, but cleaner look
