Looks like a crack in the terrain. I can see the background peeking through in some spots.

Oh, I see. I thought you were referring to the black line.

It looks like maybe the normals are wrong?

I think they were my normals actually.  I realised I was using an old shader I made so I changed it for my newer one with normal calculations in the geometry shader and I haven't noticed the issue yet.  Hopefully that was it.
