Andy90 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Hello, i noticed that refraction has an problem with water and the terrain height. You can reproduce this when you create an terrain add an big brush for the water and sculpt the terrain. Quote
Josh Posted April 21 Posted April 21 What specifically in your screenshot does not look as you would expect? I can't tell from a still image. I created a test scene and everything acts as I would expect: watertest.zip Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Andy90 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 You sculpt inwards. I sculpted an mountain and place water arround it: This way you can reproduce the bug. Quote
Josh Posted April 22 Posted April 22 This is what I see. Looks normal: watertest2.zip Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Andy90 Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 however you can see that there is an issue. For me it looks not normal. I can send you later the scene. Quote

Andy90 Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 You can see the issue on my screenshot from post 1. I have no clue how it can be bether reproduced. There is some problem that if you put the water brush higher then the terrain and much bigger then it gives the result that the water is just not there. I also can send you the project files. Quote
Josh Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Can you please upload the map file that causes the error? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Josh Posted April 23 Posted April 23 This is what I see when I run your map. Do you see something different? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Josh Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Okay, it looks like there is an error when the depth difference is beyond the transition zone. I will try my Nvidia card today. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Josh Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I installed the latest Nvidia 576.02 driver, and created a new project: I disabled fog and all post-processing effects, so I could better see what is happening. Nothing seems very strange here on a 1080 ti: I recommend the following: Update your Nvidia driver. Remove all post-processing effects. Disable fog. Disable tessellation. Disable screen-space reflection. Make sure you have the very latest shaders and post-processing .fx files in your project. Andy90 Posted Thursday at 05:11 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:11 PM I have the newest driver, removed all post processing effects, disabled fog, disabled tesselation, disabled screen-space reflections and the latest shaders. No change. Quote
Andy90 Posted Thursday at 05:15 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:15 PM maybe its realy bether i send you the project. Since nothing works for me. Also you need to concider that its maybe related to RTX cards since you have an GTX card. So you can check if the project itself looks right on your gtx. Quote
Josh Posted Thursday at 05:46 PM Posted Thursday at 05:46 PM Yes, that would be good. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Josh Posted Thursday at 05:56 PM Posted Thursday at 05:56 PM Looks great on a 1080. Maybe we should make a simple test and see if anyone else with an RTX card has the same problem? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Andy90 Posted Thursday at 05:58 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:58 PM do you capture the screenshot within the editor ? Quote
Josh Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM Yes. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
