Use the editor and open up the deserthighway or train or tunnels or terrain_arctic SBX file from the Maps folder. Then click the gamecontroller icon from the toolbar and it will run the fpscontroller.lua script.

I have got the big artic forest thing - Yippee. I want that GDC 2010 one though.

Heh, I turned the artic terrain into a normal grassy, foresty terrain by swapping the textures out.

Can I simply swap the tree for another one, or is it not as easy as just switching the tree?

I found out how to swap the tree out; however, it does it slow time - ie you have to move through the terrain to filter the swap in.

Still, it makes it more exciting.

EDIT:

Cancel that, after driving for miles through the terrain, I turned around and the original tree was re-filling in behind me. The cheeky little scamp.

if you wanna see lua in action... look in the LW root folder and run the scripteditor... then load the file example01.lua and run it from the editor...

if you wanna run it outide the editor, change the name to start.lua, then double click on engine.exe and it'll run... or it should...

Not bad, but it kind of just doesn't have those 'come to bed with me' eyes that Blitz3D has.

We need more demo things.

Start handing them over and I'll check them out and pick a winner or two.

Ideally, demos with plenty of media and eye-candy - good stuff only.

There's some good stuff in the gallery that I can check to see if it is good enough to be included. I can't promise anything though - so it is best for you to hand over the best you can possibly do to stand a chance. I'll need full source and media. I'll announce a winner and various runners up at Christmas, that should get me a ton of stuff.
