I would like to play around with cars in leadwerks, But don't really know how to start. Do I export the car body as a mesh, then 1 tire as a mesh that is centered? How easy would it be to alter the viperscout code to get my model to work too? Thanks. :)

Export the car normally, but create some pivots and rename them. Create other model separate that is the wheel, in the script car, find each pivot with FindChild(), and put the wheel gmf model, in pivot position. :)

Move those tires inwards a bit to prevent problems. You can put the visual tire mesh wherever you want, but the physics tire should be inside the body.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.

if you ask me, i put the car with the named (left_front, right_front,etc..) wheels in place exported all and make phygen then so you can put it for viewing, bumping

and exported later the four wheels independently without phygen and load the model for driving with appropriate drive_car.lua.

it works for me, hope it helps

Thanks for the helpful replies :). If I manage to get it working myself, I might write up a tutorial on how to do this and then upload to the tutorials section. It would be good to have something like this covered in a step by step form. ;)
