CheckBox Labels Clipped

First noticed this in my application and the same thing can be seen in this example.  The lower portion of the text is clipped.  More noticeable when using letters like 'p' which extend below the baseline.

It might just be that the widget should be created with a bigger height value.

That was the first thing I tried but it made no difference.
