Hi,

I like the idea for this new Forum and i would like to add some suggestions to it.

Maybe the forum should be subdivided into other sub-forums:

  • Extensions & Plugins: topics related to specific extensions
  • In this forum there should be a moderated sticky with a list of extensions and plugins (official and community) and links to it
    • FAQ or Tutorials (a place to ask questions or share knowledge about extension and plugin development)
    • Releases (here should all extensions have a place)
    • Bugs (what it says ;) )

I believe without such a structure the top forum could become very large and unstructured.

I'm thinking in the future we will probably bring back the Downloads app for this site, with a focus on extensions and plugins, and leave the 3D models to third-party sites like Sketchfab that already have a lot of ready to use models available.

The Invision web API can be used to browse and download this content. That system can be set up to automatically generate a support topic when an item is uploaded in the system, so all discussion can occur in that thread.

With that information in mind, are you suggesting creating a new forum section divided into subforums, like this?:

Yeah, I just thought with a single forum it will get be floated soon and I think it would be good to separate actual plugins from the development side. It’s just a cleaner way.

I created one forum that is meant to have one thread per item. Eventually these topics will be auto-generated when the downloads system goes online.

There is a second forum for discussion of addon development.

Let's see how it goes and if it's bad just tell me. :D
