The editor needs a Non-shaded mode for map design, having to move ambient to a brighter color, then move it back and rebuilding GI everytime time I test something on my map is a becoming a chore, especially when working with Ambient 0,0,0 as I often do.. 

Try building a map in this light ! :)

I think there is the same sort of issue with Prefabs where you save of your prefab and open it up and its probably got no lights now  cause it was just a small part of the scene and you have to do a few more clicks to change world settings to be able to see anything. I think this is my experience.
