Displacement blending looks much better

The grass material uses a displacement map to control how it blends into the dirt. This creates a lot of interesting patterns and unique details you would not get witha  simple crossfade.

can we "crossfade" models into the terrain as found in unreal engine ?

I'm sure it's possible, but I have not implemented any such feature.
