Renaming prefab in scene keeps prefab connection

I have these simple node prefabs that I place in the scene (simply called Node). I need to rename them in order to clearly know which node it is (Node_1, Node_2), but renaming them breakes the prefab connection. It would be a 'nice to have' feature when renaming a prefab in the scene does not break the connection.

If I do this, then if an object's name in the model changes, the prefab will not be updated.

No.  So that might be the thing we want to do.  I'm just saying, that is the choice that must be made.

Thanks for the reply. I had hoped it would be a property like the rotation or position that could simply be excluded from the ignore process.

It can be.  I need to think about whether that is what we want.  It probably makes sense to do it like you suggest.
