MetalOS Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I just tested the VR mode and I encounter a lot of distortion as if the headset was equipped with a fisheye lens. I haven't found anything in the documentation that would change this behavior. Quote
Josh Posted April 5 Posted April 5 The system should detect the correct projection matrix for the headset you are using. What headset is it? When you say "equipped with a fish eye lens" is this some kind of modification or add-on, or just the standard configuration? Quote Let's build cool stuff and have fun.
MetalOS Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 I'm using a Meta Quest 3 and using the VR example that comes with Leadwerks 5. Quote
Josh Posted April 5 Posted April 5 It looks slightly off, or is it very very wrong? Can you describe what you are seeing? Quote Let's build cool stuff and have fun.
MetalOS Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 The image is stretched as if I had magnifying glasses in front of my eyes. Quote
Josh Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I am sorry to hear that. I will check and see if there is an update for OpenVR and whether there are any known issues with the Meta Quest 3. Quote Let's build cool stuff and have fun.
MetalOS Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 Thanks, I'll see if I can make a video to show the problem. 1 Quote
MetalOS Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 Sorry for the quality of the video, I can't get any better, but we can see the distortion of the image. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv8XKzEZ0cs Quote
MetalOS Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 Hi Josh, have you had any updates on the VR issue I'm having? Quote
Josh Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I do not have the ability to test this headset right now. Quote Let's build cool stuff and have fun.
Josh Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I just ordered a Quest 3. It will get here Thursday, so I can try this myself. Quote Let's build cool stuff and have fun.
Solution Josh Posted August 9 Solution Posted August 9 I just tried this on a Quest 3 in the beta branch on Steam, and the projection worked perfectly. I did not try the stable branch, which was using an older version of the OpenVR library. Unless anyone tells me otherwise, I will assume this issue was solved by updating the OpenVR library. MetalOS Posted October 4 Author Posted October 4 Hi Josh, sorry I was working on another project and haven't been able to try it yet. I'll try it as soon as I can and get back to you. 1 Quote
MetalOS Posted October 4 Author Posted October 4 Ok I just tried and everything works fine I no longer have this fisheys problem 1 Quote
MetalOS Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 I don't understand why this fisheye problem is happening again. However, I load the VR demo and nothing else. Quote
MetalOS Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 Josh, from which version was OpenXR updated because I think I'm still on version 1.0.0 of Leadwerks 5. Quote
Josh Posted October 9 Posted October 9 It's OpenVR, not OpenXR. I am not sure if this was included in the last build on the default branch or not. I recommend using the beta branch to test this. Quote Let's build cool stuff and have fun.
