AggrorJorn Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 I didn't only try CSG. The first demo (0.01) was a csg ball while the second one (0.01) was a Sphere created via Model:CreateSphere. This worked for me when making tutorials but it doesn't seem to be good idea in this case. Anyway, I am glad the jittering is solved. Now on to the rest. The next demo will contain a 'model' of a sphere. (just a sphere that I dragged and created in Blender. ) Quote
AggrorJorn Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 I loaded in my own model but I forgot to scale. Made me laugh! 2 Quote
AggrorJorn Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Dammit, I have another physics bug http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/6927-newton-crash-on-collision-hook-2/ The friction issue still remains as well as the bounce back issue when a ball hits a boundry. Quote
Rick Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 And this is why game dev is so hard. Nothing ever works right You might have to get more involved into the physics. For example bouncing manually when colliding with the sides by adding forces and slowing the ball down yourself perhaps? Quote
YouGroove Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Is Newton a good choice ? Some engine like Bullet used in some AAA games could do best and afford more advanced features. Quote Stop toying and make games
AggrorJorn Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 I don't mind tweaking and adding some logic myself but this behavior is just weird and what a physics engine should do for me. I might as well make my own phsyics. (not going to) Quote
YouGroove Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Sorry but some engines proposes good physics for gameplay , you can make golf, pinball easy without making your own physics. I hope LE3 to get back on the right track for physics. why not Bullet physics ? Quote Stop toying and make games
AggrorJorn Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 I have uploaded version 0.03. (see first post for download) Improvements Camera jittering has been reduced by 90% - 95%. The game starts with level selection. Further known issues Bug during level switching has not yet been fixed Josh is working on it. [*]Boundries still absorb any bounce back forces. [*]Lightmapping sometimes looks weird. [*]Ball and scenery seem to completely ignore friction. Level csg has been set to scene collision type that makes movement smoother. Quote
AggrorJorn Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Gave it another shot today since we had a physics update a few days ago. I made some rough models in 3ds max and some lua scripts. 3 - 4 hours work + and awesome swaying flag from Shad(er)mar. 6 Quote

gamecreator Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I'm jealous of what you can do in such a short time. Quote
AggrorJorn Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 A small demo has been uploaded to the workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=311533257 1 Quote
ChrisV Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Looking great, Aggror! I really like the part where you move the hole on another terrain. If you need a custom skybox for your golf game, let me know. 1 Quote My Artwork. AggrorJorn Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 @Chrisv: thanks but it is just a simple project to spend some time on in between the larger projects. It's a good way to take a break. A new update has been uploaded to the workshop. - improved camera controls - 1 new track - new powerbar gui - tweaked ball behaviour slightly Quote
