acqwea Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 It is must that Leadwerks requires Shader Model 3.0? which means that some older cards won’t work (according to Steam hardware survey we are roughly talking about range of “50-60% of computers can handle” it – roughly speaking, Quote
AggrorJorn Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Leadwerks engine 3 requires a minimum of OpenGL 2. OpenGL 4 is added later but users can choose between opengl versions. Perhaps you read about Leadwerks engine 2, which supports only OpenGL 4. Quote
Mumbles Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 LE 2 supports at least Open GL version 3.3 - On my XP computer, that's the version it uses according to the debug file. Quote LE Version: 2.50 (Eventually)
AggrorJorn Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 my bad sorry. Leadwerks 2 is no longer for sale, so you don't have to worry about that. Quote
Josh Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Last time I checked, something like 85% of Steam users could run Leadwerks. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
YouGroove Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Should be almost 100% with Opengl 2 ? And someone said LE3 had fallbacks in case hardware would be a bit old ? If you don't use any shader, just plain colors or hand painted style game (allods mmo , city of steam), should be bad to require shader model 3 Quote Stop toying and make games
Josh Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 OpenGL 2.1 is the fallback. Nothing being sold today supports less than that. I can't even buy a phone with a lower spec. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MikeClarke Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Josh you can if you want, I have an old nokia 8850 kicking about somewhere lol I'll sell it for say 8850 Quote Operation Mosquito Recruiting 3d Modeller/Animator. Josh Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I already have that one. XD Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
acqwea Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 How to set the fallback. My mean that use the OpenGL 2.1.Document have it? Quote
