Rick Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 It sounded like we were able to make a community wiki. I didn't see anyone else following up on that so thought I'd give it a try. I made a wiki here: http://leadwerks.wikidot.com/ It should be wide open. I haven't done any formatting or anything, but would love if anyone is interested to start providing ideas, tutorials, snippets, whatever. Maybe put the link in your sig so it doesn't get forgotten and more people see it. 5 Quote
Admin Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 You might find additional functionality you want on the Leadwerks profile on IndieDB.com: http://www.indiedb.com/engines/leadwerks-engine/tutorials This has the advantage that it brings more visibility to your games and to the engine itself. 1 Quote
Rick Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Will check that out. I wasn't aware anyone could make changes to that. Thanks! Quote
Admin Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 It doesn't look like there's any wiki functionality, actually, looks about the same as our own tutorials section. However the fact it's connected to the rest of the indie scene is a big advantage. Quote
AggrorJorn Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Very nice Rick, I will surely add some articles to this wiki. But can you tell me your experience with this wiki system and wikidot? I have never used it but I am sure you have good reasons to go for this one. Quote
Rick Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 I just picked one because nobody else was . My experience is zero with this one or any other wiki. I was just trying to get the ball rolling. Quote
AggrorJorn Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Ah okay. wikidot is the third largest wiki database so it must be pretty good. I am adding some stuff right now. 1 Quote
gamecreator Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 This might be a good place for requests as well. Effective Indoor and Outdoor Environment Settings Light settings to make your scenes pop and where and how to use appropriate material types and shaders. Speed Optimizations Workarounds and other ways to optimize the speed of your game. It seems we have a lot of theads like this around and it would be nice to centralize them around this topic. Quote
AggrorJorn Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I have added some icons and made a little category layout. http://leadwerks.wikidot.com 4 Quote
