I am looking to purchase a new laptop so I can run le at night when I am away on holiday. I don't care if the framerate is lower than my desktop as its only for temp use. But it MUST run le.Any help is appreciated. Will be purchased in uk.

amd quad core 4 ghz / geforce 660 ti 2gb / win 10

Blender,gimp,silo2,ac3d,,audacity,Hexagon / using c++

Unless the UK is drastically different from the U.S., pretty much anything will do. For a laptop, I would probably get Intel graphics as long as you understand it won't be a great gaming machine, but will be adequate to work on. It will be cooler and lighter. I find that "high-end" laptops are such a compromise; they're still not as good as my desktop, yet they have extra cost, heat, and weight. So they're kind of the worst of both worlds.

I have a clevo i use for presentations and travel, most re-sellers let you pick components so its easy to build something to a budget.

My first Adobe purchase was Photoshop 2.0, CS6 was my last! < = >

Me too, even with Windows. The hardware is so much better than a creaky plastic case, and the trackpads are so responsive.

 

The Surface actually looks kind of interesting as well.
